Traveling on a budget? No problem! Chattanooga has tons of free and fun experiences for all ages—from stunning views to splash pads and walking trails. Here’s where to go:

1. Chattanooga Riverwalk

  • A 13-mile paved trail along the Tennessee River.
  • Great for biking, walking, and spotting wildlife.
  • Local tip: Avoid walking here alone after dark—safety first!

2. Coolidge Park

  • One of the top family-friendly parks in the city.
  • Includes a carousel, splash pad, wide lawns, and food trucks.
  • Located in Northshore—great for people-watching and festivals.

3. Walnut Street Bridge (Closed For Renovations)

  • One of the longest pedestrian bridges in the world.
  • Connects downtown to Northshore.
  • Best at sunset! Grab ice cream and take a stroll—this is the #1 thing I recommend to visitors.

4. Bluff View Sculpture Garden

  • A peaceful 2-acre art garden with views of the river.
  • Right near the Hunter Museum and Rembrandt’s Coffee.
  • Insider tip: You’ll feel like you’re in a European village.

5. Umbrella Alley (West Village)

  • A colorful canopy of umbrellas over a cobblestone alley.
